Holiday Ideas

May 9th, 2009 § 0

You learn a lot travelling around the world like I have done. One main thing that you learn is that in other countries they all have different cultures and different ideas of what a holiday should be and how to treat a tourist. For example in Russia I came across places which trained tourists how to fly a mig 31 fighter. I do not think there is anything wrong with learning to do this - in fact I could not resist posing for a picture in a plane myself to get some fly mig pictures. however, it was the way that it was marketed as a vacation that was odd to me. I would have thought a week at a flight training center would be like training course rather than a holiday and full of intensive learning rather than relaxation. Maybe we just cannot relax any more and we need to stir up our adrenaline while we are on holiday too.

UK Festival Vacation

February 11th, 2009 § 0

Many people plan to attend UK festivals in the summer instead of having holidays. It is a great way to have lots of fun with your friends and see lots of fantastic bands such as Oasis and Blur. If you plan on doing this yourself this year then make sure that you book your festival tickets on Seatwave. They are a company which sells tickets on line for all of the major UK festivals and have things like Leeds Festival tickets and Reading Festival tickets and tickets for all of the other major festivals. What sets them apart form other sites is that they will guarantee you your money back if you are unwell or have travel problems which prevent you from attending the event.

A Memorable Holiday

February 10th, 2009 § 0

My friend has been telling me about what she plans to do for her summer holiday this year. She has managed to get hold of some Seatwave Reading Festival tickets for August and said that this will be the centre of her holiday as it is something that she has wanted to do for ages. She is going to incorporate some other things into it as well though. She plans to spend the week before it camping in Brighton and then go up to Reading for the festival. Then back down south but this time to Portsmouth to a camp site by the coast there. Then she will return home to London afterwards. It sounds like quite a lot of travelling to me but I think that working around the event, now that she has got the Festival Tickets is a great way to have a relaxing break away and incorporate a really memorable and fun event. We have both been trying to find out what the Reading Festival lineup will be, now that she has booked to see how good the holiday really will be!

Ottawa

February 9th, 2009 § 0

Ottawa is a capital city that I have always wanted to visit. This is partly because I know people in Canada and so have been curious as to what it is like to go there. But also I love comparing capital cities and seeing how different they are. It is interesting that some are very friendly and some are not, they all have lots of things to see and do and lots of places for shopping! Ottawa is no exception as it has a whole host of museums as well as great shopping area. One big advantage for me is the fact that they speak English - I do find it awkward visiting countries which do not as I am not very good at getting a grasp of foreign languages! The last thing that attracted me to the city is the temperatures, I do not like places which are too hot and with a maximum temperature in the peak of summer of just 28 degrees it is not overly hot at all. I have pretty much made my mind up to visit the city but I have to decide whether I want to go when it is nice and warm in the summer or go in the winter when it is likely to be snowing. I love the snow but there are of courses, associated transportation problems with that which could make arrival and departure tricky. Perhaps I will start by seeing if I can find some Cheap hotels in Ottawa and then from the prices and my budget, decide which time of the year I can afford to go at!

Booking a Villa Holiday

February 6th, 2009 § 0

I have found, in the past, whenever I have wanted to book a villa holiday, it has been a lot of hassle. I tend to get a brochure and pick the one that I want and then when I call up to book it, I find that the one that I want is not available. It is really annoying as then you have to start from scratch again searching the brochure and call up again to book a villa and hope that one is available. I have decided that there must be an easier way to do it and I have been asking around. My friend says that she always books on line because you can find out the availability of the villa on the website, as a rule. This means that you can quickly check, before you even take too close a look at it, whether you need to decide if it is a place that you would like to stay in. I will certainly give this a try, next time I book and hopefully it will make the process a lot easier.

Choosing a Golf Vacation

January 29th, 2009 § 0

It is the time of year when many people are looking to plan their vacations. It can be hard knowing exactly where is the best place to go, even if you have decided on what type of holiday that you want. For example if you are choosing a golf vacation, how do you choose where to go for it and which particular place is the best. It is tempting to look for the one with the best golf course but that is not the only thing to consider, although of course it is important. If you are planning on having a lot of training while playing on the golf courses, then the qualifications of the instructors is very important too. You should also consider what levels of golf instruction are given and whether you think that it will be beneficial to you at the level that you currently play at. A few factors that are often forgotten are the quality of food and the rooms at the hotel. Just because you are on a golf holiday, does not mean that you do not want to relax and eat well so do not forget to look into these as well when you are choosing a place to stay.

Choosing a Holiday

January 24th, 2009 § 0

Choosing a holiday can be a really difficult thing to do. If you are holidaying alone then it is not so hard as you will obviously have something in mind, whether it is a vague as wanting to go somewhere hot or as specific as wanting to go skiing on the Swiss Alps. If you are travelling with a partner, friend or family then it can be a lot more tricky. You will all have your own ideas as to what you would like to get from a holiday and sometimes it is not possible to find a destination that encompasses all of your tastes. It can be a good idea to go to a travel agent as they will be able to suggest the best place to suit all of you.

Travel Agents Future

December 22nd, 2008 § 0

It can often be hard to know what the best way to choose a holiday. You could go to your local travel agent or their website or you could just choose something yourself and buy on line. It can be hard to know which method will help you to get the best deal but also the best holiday to suit you. It is wise to do some research and decide where you would like to go and then you can look at the prices. You can go to an agent and see what they can offer and also look on the Internet to find the price to book yourself. Then you will know which is the best way to buy.
